Second-Hand, Child's Play

Second-Hand, Child's Play

Clothes, equipment, toys, or strollers may no longer be useful at home now that the children have grown up. However, they are often in too good a condition to be thrown away, so we decide to keep them a little longer.

But what if we could extend the life of children's items? We could save the planet and the climate - and earn money by tidying up our closets. By buying more second-hand children's clothes instead of new ones, we save significant amounts of CO2 and water, reduce the use and spread of harmful chemicals, and lower our expenses.

So why not make reusing existing items easy and fun? That’s our idea at Børneloppen. It all started with two moms who wanted to revamp second-hand shopping. Today, we have 9 franchisees, 14 stores, and a total of 120 employees. Each one is passionate, we are on a first-name basis with our regular customers, and together, we are continuously improving Børneloppen.

We have made reusing easier by creating welcoming stores where merchandise is beautifully displayed. We have also simplified selling by developing our own computer system, where it’s fun to track sales day by day. At Børneloppen, there’s room for conversations by the coffee machine, for toddlers and expectant mothers on the lookout for great finds. We welcome our customers with a smile and share the joy of making good deals. We also love offering surprises, whether it’s musical awakenings, breakfasts, or maternity activities in our relaxation and play area.

With Børneloppen, we have turned shopping into an experience, which is why we are also a community for families, parents, and children. The community is strong, both on our social networks and in our stores. In fact, our stores are a destination for many families with children.

Thanks to Børneloppen, it is more enjoyable to resell children's items, and buying second-hand items has become fun and easy to manage. It’s a plus for the family budget and a win for the environment and the climate.

We are convinced that making second-hand shopping child’s play helps promote more responsible and sustainable consumption. Together, we are helping to take care of the planet our children will inherit.
